Application Fees for Operator Licences
From 1st August 2008 some changes have occurred for application fees and annual fees. Click here to check the new rates.
| Type A | Type B | Type C | |
| Less than £100k | £100-£500k | More than £500k | |
| Non-remote Operator application fees | £165 | £247 | £329 |
| Type F | Type G | Type H | |
| Remote Operator application fees | £165 | £247 | £329 |
| Discount on remote application fees (assuming these are the smallest of the 2 elements) | £123.75 | £185.25 | £246.75 |
| £41.25 | £61.75 | £82.25 |
With the application fees you only pay the full amount on the largest (and 100% of an ancillary licence if applicable) and all of the others are discounted by 75%.
So in this example you would pay the full amount on the Type C (over £500k non-remote) application - £329
and then only 25% of the Type F (less than £100k remote) = £165 x 0.25 = £41.25
Giving you a total application fee of £329 + £41.25 = £370.25
and finally add in the PML at £330 – renewable every 5 years, or when the licence holder leaves.
Annual fees
| Non - remote | Type A | Type B | Type C |
| Less than £100k | £100- £500k | More than £500k | |
| Annual Fees | £348 | £692 | £1,392 |
| Discount in first year | £87 | £173 | £348 |
| Fees payable in first year | £261 | £519 | £1,044 |
In the first year non-remote Annual Fees are discounted by 25%
| Remote | Type F | Type G | Type H |
| Less than £100k | £100-£500k | More than £500k | |
| Annual Fees | £2,372 | £4,369 | £6,366 |
However when you combine a non-remote lottery with a remote lottery, you are also entitled to a further 10% discount off all but the largest fee due.
For example:
A Non-remote lottery of over £500k proceeds (Type C) combined with a remote lottery producing less than £100k proceeds (Type F)
In first year
£1392 (basic annual non-remote fee over £500k) x 0.25 (25% discount) = £348
£1392 - £348 = £1044
£1044 x 0.1 (additional 10% discount on non-remote element as this is the smallest of the 2 annual fees)) = £104.40
which when added to the original discount of £348 makes up the final discount of £452.40.
So in the first year you will pay
£1392 -£452.40 = £939.60 plus the remote licence for less than £100k of £2372
Giving you a total annual fee of £3,311.60
Then in the first year add to this the operator licence fees for non-remote and remote
